Powerful Article Marketing - From Idea to Customers in 5 Simple Steps

People often overlook the power of articles. What seems to be a collection of text can't be that powerful. Nothing is further from the truth. Articles have the potential to bring you high paying customers. If that doesn't make sense, read on.

The steps from idea to getting a customer involves the following steps:

1. Turn your idea into articles

Write article and format it so they are pleasing to read. Articles must be fast and easy to read and deliver the message clearly.

2. Submit your articles to article directories or other sites

The next step is to submit your articles to article directories. Web and ezine publishers will then publish and syndicate these articles on their sites or e-newsletter. You can also volunteer as a contributor to other sites.

3. A prospect reads one or more of your articles

They read your articles, and when they like what they see, they click through and go to your site. Most article directories and other sites allow you to put your links inside or below the article. It is called resource box. Use that virtual real estate to drive traffic to your site.

4. Get the prospect to subscribe or register on your site

Most people visit a site, but never purchase on the first visit. Unless you capture their name and contact information, they may not be able to find their way back even if they want to. How many of us remember every site that we visit each day?

5. Follow up until you get the sale

The key is in follow up. People hate to be sold. However, if you provide them with information and are sincere in helping them solve their problems, they're all ears. Follow up even more and when it's time they will take on your offer and buy your products or services.

Here you go... a customer!

Articles are useful tools. They are a medium to communicate with the prospects and customers at different stages of the sales process. Use them wisely and you can turn a stranger to a prospect, and a prospect to a customer.
